Chicago Was Ranked the Best US City for St. Patrick’s Day, Because Obviously

After the kind folks at WalletHub mistakenly named Chicago as the 14th best city for celebrating St. Paddy’s in America just last year, it looks like the world has finally come to their senses.

Yup, that’s right – in this year’s iteration of the same study, the firm found that the Second City is, as we suspected, the number one place to throw down for St. Paddy’s throughout the U.S of A.

Comparing 200 of the country’s largest cities across 17 different metrics, WalletHub discovered what we Chicagoans already knew in our heart: from the annual river dyeing to the seasonal release of our Green River soda, nowhere does St. Patrick’s Day like the Chi.

Measures considered in calculating each city’s ranking included the number of Irish pubs per capita, the total Irish population, and even the average March 17th weather forecast. Unsurprisingly, Chicago tied for first among the metros with the most Irish festivities per capita.
