The annual rock festival that’s taken over Douglas Park for the past 16 years is back with a headliner to satisfy the millennials. Pop-punk classic My Chemical Romance is headlining Riot Fest 2020, the final show and yet, also the pre-cursor to what’s expected to be a killer lineup.
From September 11 – 13, Riot Fest brings together rock fans, punk fiends, and alternative lovers for one giant, weekend-long festival. The multi-venue setup keeps fans rotating between five stages, all while a devilish mascot looms from the central grounds. Last year’s headliners included the long-awaited Blink-182, the reunion of Bikini Kill, and the legendary Slayer for their final Chicago show, so we can’t wait to see what they pull this year.
With the announcement of My Chemical Romance, Riot Fest released its 3-day pre-sale passes for $149.98 that offer basic admission. Traditionally, Riot Fest doesn’t offer single-day passes until a few weeks before the festival, so make sure to nab that 3-day pass while you can if you’re totally committed.
Three-day VIP Tickets are $299.98 and include Festival Admission, 5 Beverage Tickets, Re-entry privileges, Private Lockers for purchase in VIP area, Unlimited Access to VIP Lounge, VIP Gate Entry, Private VIP Bar, and Private VIP Restrooms.
The 3-day Deluxe pass is $699.98 and includes all the previous VIP amenities, plus a Viewing area at main stages, Unlimited access to Deluxe Lounge, which includes a Complimentary Open Bar, Air-Conditioned Restrooms, Shaded Lounge with Plush Seating, Complimentary Gourmet Snacks throughout day, Cell Phone Charging Area, Free Wi-Fi, Personal Guest Services, and Private Lockers for purchase in Deluxe area.
And, finally, the 3-day Unlimited pass is $1,499.98, includes all VIP & Deluxe amenities, plus Unlimited Access to Ultimate Cabana, Secured, air-conditioned cabana exclusive to Ultimate guests. Each cabana holds up to 25 Ultimate guests, Private cabana patio with elevated, unobstructed view of the Riot stage, Fully-stocked, all-inclusive private bar with your very own bartender, Gourmet meals and snacks provided throughout the day, Concierge service, Comfortable, upscale seating, Private, air-conditioned restrooms, and Private Lockers for purchase in Deluxe area.
“BUT WAIT,” –you, probably, “What about the other bands?”
We’re wondering the same, but Riot Fest has stated we’ll probably see the full lineup, with our heroes MCR included, sometime this spring. Last year, fans wondered if Riot Fest was even still scheduled because it took them so long to release the queue. Nevertheless, Riot Fest persisted, bringing us another brilliant set of musicians. We’re bound to see some big names return and newcomers rise to the top in 2020. Stay tuned and check back with UrbanMatter for the full schedule this spring!
