Peculiarities and Pale Ales at Lagunitas Beer Circus

It’s time to get freaky at the Lagunitas Beer Circus. For one day only on Saturday, August 24, Lagunitas Brewing Company is hosting its annual pop-up freak show across the street from the brewery in Douglas Park. Watch some of the strangest spectacles you’ve ever laid eyes upon from 12–5 pm while you drink hopped-up Lagunitas beer to your heart’s content.

Join festivalgoers under the Big Top to witness freaks of nature exhibit their endless talent and perform fantastic oddities you can never unsee. Between the swinging trapeze artists and over 100 other daring performers is a great glass of beer waiting for you at the Lagunitas pop-up bar. The first beer is included in your ticket, so make sure to purchase ahead of time. Proceeds go toward supporting CRISP, a Chicago rescue pet charity.

Don’t forget to taste your way through the various cultures of Chicago by visiting the food truck vendors and stick around to jam out to live tunes and the roaming marching band. Face painting stations, sideshows, and other pop-up stations are also scattered throughout the festival.

You are absolutely encouraged to show up in costume. Not only will you compete with everyone there for who gets the most double-takes, but there is also a costume contest for which the prize is bound to be good. However, make sure to leave your kids and your pets at home as the event is 21+ and human only.
