Chicago’s Favorite Festive Tour Returns This Friday

chicago trolley holiday lights tourSwallow down that last forkful of turkey, because starting this Friday, November 24, it’s officially appropriate (and wholly encouraged) to be completely in the holiday zone. The best initiation? Hopping on board a Chicago Trolley for the annual Holiday Lights Tour.

Underneath the John Hancock Center’s shining Christmas tree awaits a holiday trolley adorned in Christmas lights that will take you on a two-and-a-half-hour excursion through the brightly lit shopping districts in the Loop, stopping at the famous Christkindlmarket at Daley Plaza, and then heading to illuminated holiday fun at ZooLights before circling back to the John Hancock Center. Even better? You can enjoy a complimentary bag of Hot Cocoa CaramelCrisp® from Garrett Popcorn along the way.

Holiday Lights Tours, hosted by Chicago Trolley & Double Decker Co., take place on weekdays at 5:30 pm, 6:00 pm, and 6:30 pm, starting November 23. Weekend slots are available November 23 – 25, 30, December 1 – 2, and December 7 – 23, at 3:30 pm, 5:30 pm, 6:00 pm, and 6:30 pm. Adult boarding passes are $32 and kids (3-15) are $20, but if you purchase a package deal, your ticket is also good for one Hop On and Off tour. We recommend ordering pre-sale tickets now, as admission is often limited on the day of the tour.

Keep in mind, refunds are not provided for unused tickets, and tour routes and times are subject to change.

After graduating from the U of I with a Bachelor’s in English, Courtney hit the ground running. A lifelong passion for writing (oddly foreshadowed by a tendency to live on streets named after dead British authors) is what drives her professional endeavors. When she’s not at her desk with headphones in, cranking out articles on Chicago’s music, dining, and nightlife scenes, you can usually find her at concerts around the city, watching horror movies, psyching herself into going to the gym, or obsessing over scented candles.
