Going a bit stir crazy with the cold weather? Get out of the house and attend the Navy Pier Food Walk Tour event by Chicago Food Planet. It features a large variety of Chicago’s finest foods and takes place at the iconic pier. You’ll be led by a tour guide as they show you some of the food that Chicagoans love to eat! Whether you are a local or a visitor, you’ll love eating your way through this tour.
On the food tour, you’ll also learn more about the history of the pier as you view the Instagramable Chicago skyline. Even better, this navy Pier event is the perfect activity to do on a cold, blustery day because the tour takes place mostly inside during the winter. If you want to take the tour during warmer months, you will spend some time outdoors, as well.
Over the course of two hours, you’ll be snacking your way through the restaurants at Navy Pier in a small, intimate setting. Make sure to come hungry because there will be plenty of food options.
Some of the items you might taste from Navy Pier restaurants on the food tour include:
- Stuffed pizza from Giordano’s Pizzeria
- Chicago style hot dog from America’s Dog and Burger
- Caramel Cupcake from Brown Sugar Bakery
- Cheese curds from Tiny Tavern
- Caramel and cheddar popcorn mix from Garrett’s Popcorn
You can also upgrade your ticket to include a beer, or you can purchase soft drinks and beer a la carte along the way.
This Navy Pier event is available for all ages and fitness levels; the route is wheelchair accessible, so it is open to everyone in the family. For those who are vegetarian, there are substitutions available. And if you have serious allergies or aversions, make sure to contact the Navy Pier Food Tour group beforehand to inform them of your needs.
When booking, make sure to take note of the meeting location. Depending on the time of your tour, the place might change.
Tickets to this Navy Pier event can be purchased either on-site at the Chicago Food Planet Retail Kiosk or online. You must buy your ticket at least 40 minutes before the departure time. Ticket prices start at $35 for children under the age of 12 and $50 for adults.
