After rising to fame with her Instagram poetry, poetess Rupi Kaur has had quite an eventful last few years.
The Canadian writer first started blazing her trail in 2013 as she began posting her poetry to first Tumblr and then Instagram. As her followers grew to the millions due to her relatable material, she released her first collection of poetry, Milk and Honey, to critical acclaim. The book was even chosen for Emma Watson’s book club this year.
Now, with the success of her second collection, The Sun and Her Flowers, Kaur is taking her talents on the road and making a stop in Chi-town.
On Monday, October 1st, after a sold-out tour through India and the UK, Kaur will visit the Chicago Theatre as one of 10 stops on her American tour. According to the event page, “a Rupi Kaur show is a musical poetic theatrical masterclass.”
Tickets went on sale today, August 3rd, and range from $25-$50. Tickets for this unique theatrical performance can be purchased on The Chicago Theatre’s website, Ticketmaster or the venue’s box office.
