Amazing Fireworks Water Display Returns to the Riverwalk Next Week

The Chicago Riverwalk continues to establish itself as a leading city attraction, as it now plans to bring back one of the highlights of its major summer kick-off event.

This past May, the Riverwalk welcomed the season to the city by having an all-day festival, which featured live music, parades, boat tours, and more. The day ended with a one-minute grand pyrotechnic display of fireworks that cascaded down the sides of bridges over the water in a fountain-like shape. It’s safe to assume that the spectacle was a hit, since the “pyrotechnic water display” will now be returning to the Riverwalk for a longer, five-minute show on the evening of Tuesday, August 8, and presumably, for many more nights to come.

Over the past couple of years, the Chicago Riverwalk has grown rapidly into one of the most prominent landmarks in the city after reaching its final stages of development. A floating stage, the new weekly Unifest series, and year-round vendors are just a few features that have been introduced to boost tourism to the Chicago Riverwalk.

If you missed the first display back in May, check out the video below for an idea of what it’ll look like next week. Need help navigating the Chicago Riverwalk? Check out our helpful guide.
