Why you should visit
As the most popular cultural attraction in Chicago, the Shedd Aquarium hosts two million visitors each year. The aquarium contains 1,500 species with more than 25,000 fish and has been in operation since 1930.
The Shedd is more than just fish. Their exhibits mimic the environment of different parts of the world, so you’ll be able to see dolphins, sea lions, sea otters, penguins, turtles, frogs, lizards, and other amphibians too. As with the other museums, the aquarium is very family-friendly, and children can immerse themselves in the interactive Polar Play-Zone area.
