It’s time to cue up the fireworks, you guys – ’cause a new report from WalletHub has declared Chicago the third best city in the country for celebrating the Fourth of July.
In a study that compared 19 key, star-spangled metrics across 100 of America’s largest metropolitan areas, WalletHub has found that good ole’ Chicago, Illinois is among the top metros for celebrating Independence Day throughout the country. And yes, that does include Washington D.C.
Among those factors considered in WalletHub’s ranking was the average price of beer, the average duration of fireworks displays, the amount of DUIs per capita (don’t drink and drive, folks) and the average July weather forecast for each metro.
And though our dear hometown city came in just a squeak behind other patriotic giants like NYC and LA, Chicago did rank at number 2 when it comes to overall Fourth of July activities and attractions, so that’s gotta count for something.
The other cities rounding out WalletHub’s top ten included:
- New York City, NY
- Los Angeles, CA
- Chicago, IL
- Denver, CO
- Seattle, WA
- Atlanta, GA
- Milwaukee, WI
- San Diego, CA
- Washington D.C.
- Buffalo, NY
