Paramount & Stateside Theatres Announce 50+ Events for Fall & Winter Lineup

As the 48th annual Summer Classic Film Series closes with a GIANT finish, the calendar is filling up fast with Paramount events. The Paramount & Stateside Theatres has a stellar fall and winter lineup of the best music, comedy, holiday, and family shows.

Upcoming music nights span genres, including contemporary jazz juggernauts Spyro Gyra on September 2nd, prolific indie pop group The Mountain Goats on September 16th, and 14-time Grammy winner and country legend Emmylou Harris with The Red Dirt Boys on October 19th. Other highlights include ‘90s trip-hop vets Morcheeba, a highly anticipated Little Feat show celebrating the 45th Anniversary of their acclaimed Waiting for Columbus live album, the Punch Brothers with Béla Fleck, Pat Benatar with Neil Giraldo, and more.

The historic theatres continue to shine as a beacon for comedy with an array of hilarious Moontower Comedy presents shows through December, giving Central Texans plenty to keep them laughing until the next Moontower Just For Laughs Austin comedy festival in 2023.

One of India’s most versatile comics, Rahul Subramanian, kicks off the hilarity at Stateside on September 15th, adding a late show after the first one quickly sold out. Craig Ferguson makes his return to the Paramount for The Fancy Rascal Tour on October 4th. JB Smoove (Curb Your Enthusiasm) brings the ruckus for his Paramount performance on October 13th. Viral internet personalities Brittany Broski and Sarah Schauer bring two live tapings of their Violating Community Guidelines podcast to Stateside on that same night, October 13th. One of the country’s fastest-rising comedians and “America’s favorite husband” Steve Treviño also added a late show at the Paramount after his first show on November 5th sold out. With a record breaking 5 consecutive nominations for “Best Comedy Show” at Edinburgh Fringe Festivals, British comedian James Acaster makes his Stateside debut on November 5th. Beloved paranormal-meets-true-crime podcast And That’s Why We Drink brings two lives shows to Stateside on November 16th and 17th. Other notable comedy shows include Janeane Garofalo, Zakir Khan’s show in Hindi, and Brett McKenzie of Flight of the Conchords.

As much as the Paramount is well-known for comedy and music, the same can be said for their annual family shows curated by the Paramount Education team. The new musical stage adaptation of Winnie the Pooh from Rockefeller Productions is sure to delight with life-sized puppetry on September 25th. Step Afrika!, the first professional company dedicated to the tradition of stepping, will dazzle the audiences on November 6th. And the series continues in 2023 with a magical, musical adaptation of the classic picture book The Gruffalo, the sounds of the YAMATO Drummers of Japan, and the musical stage production of Acoustic Rooster’s Barnyard Boogie: Starring Indigo Blume.

No one does holiday shows quite like the Paramount where they even manage to make it snow in Texas before each event…or at least around the marquee on Congress Avenue. Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox will bring A Very Postmodern Christmas on November 26th remaking the pop hits of today into the classic sounds of the legends of yesterday. And of course, the holidays wouldn’t be complete without a dose of lunacy and A John Waters Christmas on December 5th. Always a welcomed return to Austin, Kat Edmonson will perform Yule-tide favorites in her Holiday Swingin’! A Kat Edmonson Christmas show on December 16th.

New events are added to the calendar every week, so check back for more, including the reveal of mini Fall and Holiday Film Series that will bring classic films back to the movie palace big screen this October, November, and December.
