If you went out pumpkin picking and are now filled with the desire to continue, we have you covered. Pumpkins aren’t the only great thing to go out and pick in the fall, there’s tons of delicious fruit! Here are some of our favorite orchards near Austin for all your fruit needs.
Also known as Matt Family Farm, Harvest season has some more unique offerings in their orchard. Currently, you can go pick yourself some Asian persimmons, with some citrus on the way! Other times of the year they have Asian peaches and pears, jujube, figs, and so on. It’s a great place to try fruits you may not have had before.

Along with kale and beets in the farmstand, Green Corn Project will set up and sell fall vegetable starts for your garden! Since the 22th festival had to be canceled this will be a major fund raising for their work. Please come out for starts and a stroll around the farm and of course visit our farm store 8/1 today!!
Boggy Creek has tons in season right now. While they are currently less heavy on the fruit, these veggies are so deliciously fresh everyone will want to be eating them. You’ll find arugula, kale, squash, and several varieties of pepper for that extra kick. They also offer a great selection of meats sourced from farms nearby.

Update: 6/24. We are open today from 9am – 6pm. We have peaches that are ready to be picked! They are the la felenciana yellow flesh freestone peaches. We also some strawberries out in the field. Pick your own peaches are $2.50 and strawberries are $3.25. Our activities area is open today as well! Admission is $12/person (under 2 free). If you are only picking fruit you do not have to pay admission.
Currently, pumpkin picking is in full swing at Sweet Eats, but they’ve got some other stuff too! They’re growing strawberries at the moment, and they also have peaches, nectarines, and cherries throughout the year. It’s some of the best fruit around, and we all know how hard it is to find those perfect nectarines.
Austin Orchards is a family-owned orchard pretty close to Austin. They’ll have a wonderful selection of oranges coming soon. They’re also a great place to pick peaches, plums, pears, and watermelon! They even team up with Lick ice creams to create some of their amazing flavors.
Love Creek also has a full harvest of pumpkins at the moment, but in their day-to-day, they have apples. These aren’t just any apples, they’re nice and sweet. Perfect for baking into an apple pie or making into a jam. And, if you don’t feel quite like doing these yourself, when you’re done picking apples you can also take home some of over 50 different apple products they offer!

Jenschke Orchards has pretty reliable harvest times. They do strawberries and blackberries in spring and summer and peaches most of the year. Right now they have some amazing pumpkins (perfect for making pumpkin pie or pumpkin ice cream!) They also offer something quite exciting – starting in November you can start your hunt for the perfect Christmas tree!
