Yard Bar

Yard Bar is a dog park and bar – and one of Austin’s most popular, dog-friendly staples. The fully outdoor venue provides areas where you can hang with friends and enjoy food from Fat City, with or without a furry friend. Enclosed dog parks are also accessible where you can let your dog run free with a Day Pass or membership (available in monthly and annual subscriptions). Cork & Barrel

Located in Round Rock, Cork & Barrel Craft Kitchen + Microbrewery is a gastropub where Irish flair meets Texas fare. The outdoor space beats other Austin patios, plus, it has an expansive beer garden and a covered pavilion for when that Texas heat is in high gear this spring. Cork & Barrel is dog-friendly and is open for dining Tuesday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Tillery offers Mediterranean inspired cuisine with a menu that changes with the seasons. The food is spectacular, and their patio makes it even more enticing. While it won’t feel like you’ve taken a trip to the Mediterranean, you will feel like you’re on vacation. Their patio is surrounded by trees with beautiful views of the river, it’s so serene.

Easy Tiger

Easy Tiger has an excellent outdoor patio. A little beer garden right downtown, but it won’t feel too hectic. It’s the perfect outdoor restaurant and bar in Austin to gather with friends, have some beers, and eat some German food. Not only is there some great food and beer here, but there is also a delightful array of freshly baked breads and pastries coming out all day long.

Contigo

One of the coolest patios around, Contigo is an almost entirely outdoor restaurant. Modeled after the family ranch, the patio has several picnic-style tables, a booth area, and so many fairy lights giving the place an almost magical feel. They have delicious small bites, lots of burgers, house craft cocktails, and of course – beer and wine. It’s the perfect place for a larger gathering of friends and family.

North Italia

If you’re looking for delicious, elegant Italian food — as if that doesn’t describe all Italian food already — North is the place to go. They’ve got a wide variety of classic Italian dishes and pizzas with the thinnest, crispiest crusts around. Their patio is open and in the perfect location to get some nice sun, but not too much — they also have umbrellas to provide shade if needed. 

Hula Hut

Hula Hut’s patio is in fact a pier. Right on Lake Austin, you’ll get to enjoy some amazing waterfront views at this restaurant and bar. If you’re out on a boat and feeling peckish, you can even park your boat on the dock and come inside for some of their Polynesian inspired Tex-Mex and a few tropical cocktails. Eating here is like being on a tropical island, and while the daytime views are wonderful, we’d recommend coming at night.

Sway

At Sway, you’ll find some of the best high-end Thai food in Austin. They took traditional Thai recipes and modernized them, you’ll still get those classic and delicate flavors, just with a little something more. Their drink offerings are incredible too, with house-made sodas, craft cocktails, saké, and more. But we’re here to talk about patios in Austin. Sway has two incredible offerings. A beautiful, spacious, courtyard and an elegant rooftop bar.

Perla’s Seafood

Talk about high-end seafood. Perla’s has been providing Austin with the highest quality seafood dishes since 2009. All of their seafood is flown in daily from both coasts and the Gulf, it’s as fresh as it gets. Being right on South Congress, sitting out on one of the greatest Austin patios is a must. The area is full of shopping and restaurants and it’s so fun to sit back in the shade of an oak tree, eat some delicious food, and watch the goings-on of city life.

Another Domain restaurant, yes there are a couple, the restaurants there just have such great outdoor spaces. Culinary Dropout has one of the best Austin patios. There is plenty of seating at tables and booths, but they also have several ping pong tables and other games. This outdoor restaurant serves comfort food with a twist, house cocktails, and beer — it’s the place to go when you’re looking to have an all-around good time.

Bouldin really has that quirky Austin vibe. This restaurant specializes in all things vegan and vegetarian, and they do it so well.
