About Hubbard Street Murals
First painted in the 1970s, the Hubbard Street viaduct between Ogden Avenue and Desplaines Street has showcased artwork for several decades. Originally drawing on themes such as endangered animals and global warming, the Hubbard Street Murals have undergone a renovation in recent years. Artist Levar Hoard oversees the revitalization project, which both touches up old murals and creates entirely new ones. Now consisting of more than 250 images, his goal is to make Hubbard Street an internationally-inspired art exhibition. If you’re looking for one of the best outdoor art showcases in Chicago, Hubbard Street Murals is worth a visit.
