About The Hangge-Uppe
One of Chicago’s most popular late-night dance spots, The Hangge-Uppe is a popular Gold Coast bar on Division Street. It features two floors: one with some of the region’s top DJs spinning top 40 music, and another with classic ‘70s and ‘80s tunes. It’s open until 4 AM on every night of the week, and open an extra hour until 5 AM on Saturdays. Covered in quirky and random decor, it has been a Chicago favorite since the 1970s. Its mainly recognized for the late-night hours and peculiar, dive bar atmosphere. It is found in an unassuming storefront on Elm Street, but The Hangge-Uppe is one of the craziest bars in the Gold Coast area.
