The Berghoff

The Berghoff

Why you should visit

The Berghoff has long been a Chicago icon, opening in 1898 as a place for Herman Berghoff to sell his beer. The restaurant received Chicago’s Liquor License No. 1 when Prohibition was repealed in 1933, and it still holds this distinction today. The Berghoff offers German-American cuisine in addition to their very own craft beer. Today, the location is separated into three parts: the bar, restaurant, and café. They also offer catering services and host weddings, corporate events, and special occasions.
