Teza Technologies sponsors STEM event for third consecutive year
On Saturday, November 14, the Adler Planetarium will host Girls Do Hack, a one-day event dedicated to inspiring and empowering young women to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Girls Do Hack will provide 80 young women, in grades 9-11, from across the city, the opportunity to engage in activities that emphasize skills needed to pursue careers in a variety of STEM fields through hands-on, minds-on experiences and workshops.
Girls Do Hack, created by the Adler’s team of educators, scientists and program specialists, brings together community partners and industry leaders to introduce young women to female STEM professionals and help them gain confidence in the skills needed to excel in these fields. There will be a variety of workshops that include exploring renewable sources of energy, exoplanet detection, building robots, game development, and an experiment to determine water quality.
Girls Do Hack utilizes technology and mentorship to inspire young women to explore their academic pursuits and introduce them to the STEM workforce,” said Kelly Borden, Adler Planetarium Citizen Science Education Lead.
The presenting sponsor for Girls Do Hack for a third year is Teza Technologies LLC.
