About Tacos El Norte
Skip the line at the new (and frankly flavorless) Uncle Julio’s and head just a few miles north up the road to find one of the jewels of Lake County: Tacos El Norte. This chain Mexican restaurant has spread quickly throughout the northern suburbs, but you can find our personal favorite up here in Libertyville. Tacos El Norte is splendidly decorated with colorfully painted walls and Latin artwork, and even includes a cozy, heated back patio overlooking a pond with a fountain. And even though these decorations are designed to be pleasantly distracting from the moment you walk through the doors, the whole place is not overdone, and lives rather elegantly on the edge of Milwaukee Avenue.
