About Ravinia Festival
Home to some of the summer’s most illustrious concert series events, Ravinia tends to draw a gathering of elite Northshore families with picnic blankets and bottles of wine. Its massive open lawn is ideal for listening to an acoustic, classical, or rock n’ roll musical experience, and if being surrounded by a forest doesn’t make it that much more magical, then maybe the likes of celebrity performers like Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett will catch your attention.
The Chicago Sympathy Orchestra settles in here every summer and puts on a new performance each year to wow prospectors at the outdoor Pavilion. Past performances have included a showing of the Lord of the Rings film series accompanied by live orchestra music and a comedy show by none other than Seth McFarlane at the indoor Martin Theatre. If that’s your cup of tea, you’ll feel right at home here at Ravinia. The over 100-year-old park also features plenty of dining options, so you are never left hungry while waiting for the next show.
