Old Joliet Prison

Built in 1852, and operated uptil 2002, the Old Joliet Prison is a historic attraction, both eerie and fascinating. It’s alluring architecture and unexplored history, makes this a cool place to venture to. Tours are off and on, however, so check their website to get an update on when they are available. Even if you aren’t able to get a tour, the site is still worth seeing. Old Joliet Prison is also the famed location for a Haunted House every Halloween, spooking visitors with its very real stories of the criminals once barred there.
