About Morton Arboretum
If you’ve ever been down Route 53 or 355 and seen the enormous forest preserve stretching along the highway, that’s the Morton Arboretum. It’s home to thousands of various tree species, which all collectively manifested into the gorgeous garden that it is today. You can either visit the Arboretum on a random day to just experience the beauty of its makeup or you can make sure to stop by during one of their special events. They offer year-round events and programs like the Troll Hunt and Illumination, where they annually hang lights and put up holiday-themed exhibits throughout the forest.
While the preserve is $15 for adult admission, they have discounted rates on Wednesdays, and if you stay throughout the day, you’ll never find yourself bored amid all the diversified landscapes. Got small kiddos? Take them through the Children’s Garden, where they can romp free and wild through mini streams, over giant acorns, and climb on giant trees, all while taking in the fullness of nature. The Arboretum also houses a Center for Tree Science, where they actively work on implementing global tree conservation efforts.
