Why you should visit
As an officially recognized National Historic Landmark, the flagship Macy’s store on State Street has been an iconic symbol of Chicago for over 100 years. Whether you’re planning on shopping, visiting the Walnut Room, viewing the Great Clocks, or observing the traditional holiday scenes, Macy’s offers a unique experience that cannot be found anywhere else in the city.
With nine floors of fashion and food, tourists and Chicagoans alike can always find something to fit their interest at The Great American Department Store. Macy’s offers the latest Brand name clothing from Ralph Lauren, Estee Lauder, Levis, Clinique, and Calvin Klein. It’s also the perfect place to find furniture, housewares, and gifts! The store also offers some of the most frequented events in the city: the Macy’s Flower Show, annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, and Santaland®. There is also a Macy’s Water Tower location, though it isn’t quite as large or iconic as the State Street site.
