Davis Theater

About Davis Theater

Originally opened in 1918, the Davis Theater is a historic movie theater located in Lincoln Square. First known as the Pershing Theater, it began showing vaudeville and silent films over a century ago. Following a history that included international films, film festivals, second run films, and more, it has enjoyed a modern revival following a 2016 renovation project. Davis Theater is a widely beloved neighborhood landmark and was saved from demolition by the community in 1999. Featuring three screens and a concession stand, it now shows popular films on their first run. Davis Theater is one of Chicago’s most unique cinemas and provides a one-of-a-kind night out at the movies.
