Why you should visit
The 100-floor John Hancock Center was known as the tallest building in the world outside of New York City at the time of its construction. The building was named for the John Hancock Mutual Life Insurance Company, and it holds the nickname “Big John.”
The John Hancock Center is the home of many retail stores and dining options, the most iconic of which is the Signature Room at the 95th. As you can probably guess, this restaurant is located on the 95th floor, which offers breathtaking views in addition to the cuisine. The building also offers a viewing floor called 360 Chicago, formerly the John Hancock Observatory. This attraction is generally less crowded than the Skydeck at the Willis Tower, which leads to less wait times and a quieter experience without sacrificing much in terms of views.
