Irazu

About Irazu

Chicago’s first and only Costa Rican restaurant, Irazu is a family-owned establishment located on Milwaukee Avenue. Irazu opened in 1990 and has been a critically acclaimed restaurant ever since. Its most famous entree is the Casado, a Costa Rican dish combining rice, beans, plantains, cabbage, eggs, and meat. Other items include burritos, tacos, salads, milkshakes, and various Latin American appetizers and entrees. Irazu has a casual, welcoming interior as well as a spacious outdoor patio. Drinks are BYOB, and staff members commonly know their customers by name. Irazu is one of Chicago’s best Latin American restaurants and a favorite of Bucktown residents.
