About Harper Theater
One of the oldest movie theaters in Chicago, The Harper Theater is a community focused celebration of all things film. Designed by architect Horatio Wilson, Harper first opened its doors over a century ago in 1931 and exists now as a tribute to the neighborhood’s history, heritage and spirit. Since its reopen in 2002, The Harper Theater has become a weekend staple among Hyde Park natives and new transplants alike.
