About The Robie House
Infamous architect and designer Frank Lloyd Wright has a prominent position in the Chicago suburbs, but no one home he erected compares to the Frederick C. Robie house found in Hyde Park. This US National Historic Landmark is located smack dab in the middle of University of Chicago’s campus and was first designed as early as 1909. A prime example of Wright’s Prairie School style, this home is often considered to be a model for many other buildings in the area, making the Robie House a permanent part of the area’s cultural fabric.
