2023 Chicago Festival Guide: Hyde Park Summer Fest Announces Full Line Up

Hyde Park Summer Fest, a two-day music festival that celebrates the best of Chicago, today announced its full 2023 lineup, including a performance from rap artist Lil’ Kim. The festival, which takes place June 17-18, 2023 at Hyde Park’s Midway Plaisance, will bring an expected 40,000 attendees to Chicago’s South Side over the weekend.

Lil’ Kim, affectionately known as “The Queen Bee” and an icon in hip-hop, fashion and women empowerment, will perform hits like “The Jump Off,” “Magic Stick” and “Crush on You.”

Community Showcase Winners to Perform at Hyde Park Summer Fest

True to its community-centered mission, Hyde Park Summer Fest is hosting a community talent showcase to spotlight up-and-coming Chicago talent. Taking place on May 17 at The Promontory in Hyde Park, local talent will be judged by a committee of five community members in the music industry. Winners of the showcase will be awarded the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of performing on one of the festival’s stages on Day Two of Hyde Park Summer Fest. To be considered, local artists are encouraged to submit videos of past performances to talent@hydeparksummerfest.com by May 5; the top 15 will be invited to perform at the showcase. Winners will be announced on May 25 via Hyde Park Summer Fest’s social media.

“As hip-hop celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, we wanted to make sure that Chicago’s influence on music and culture is recognized,” said Dave Jeff, co-producer of Hyde Park Summer Fest. “By inviting iconic artists that got their start in the city to perform alongside our community’s rising talent, we’re bringing together the people that make this city shine and truly celebrating the greatness of Chicago.”

Single-day general admission tickets begin at $89, while two-day general admission tickets are $149, and two-day VIP passes are $349 (prices subject to change). Hyde Park Summer Fest takes place June 17-18, 2023 at Midway Plaisance Park in Chicago’s historic Hyde Park (1130 Midway Plaisance, Chicago, Ill. 60637). The Hyde Park Summer Fest community talent showcase will take place on Wednesday, May 17, at The Promontory (5311 S Lake Park Ave W, Chicago, Ill. 60615), from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
