About The Hairpin Arts Center
True to their motto, art really does “take a turn” at the Hairpin Arts Center in Logan Square. Located on the second floor of the Logan Square Chamber of Arts building, the Hairpin was founded in 2011 as part of an effort to revitalize and reconnect the community. It’s unique name derives from Sol Goldberg, one of Logan Square’s most prestigious business leaders, who made his fortune in the hairpin industry in the late 1930’s. Yup, you read that right – the hairpin industry. Taking inspiration from this somewhat wacky story, the Hairpin Arts Center now acts as a space for artistic, creative and cultural expression for the neighborhood at large.
