About Graceland Cemetary
One of Uptown’s hidden attractions is the Graceland Cemetery, which is easy to pass by on Clark or Irving Park, unaware of what history lies within. Graceland is the resting place for many famous Chicagoans, including the architects Louis Sullivan, John Root, and Danial Burnham, and the successful businessman Marshall Field. The cemetery’s unique and stunning design and landscape brings in tourists in addition to the famous monuments it houses. Graceland is just a short walk from the Sheridan Red Line stop and is easily accessible off the Clark bus (22).
