With Mother’s Day right around the corner, we know you’re saving up for a nice gift and dinner for Mom. However, that doesn’t mean that you can’t treat yourself too. Especially for FREE.
Here are 5 FREE things to do in Chicago this week that you may not have known about:
The Art Institute of Chicago
Feeling artsy? If you missed the series of free museum days this past winter, here’s your second chance to experience a free night of art. Every Thursday from 5-8 p.m., Illinois residents get free admission to the Art Institute of Chicago. One of their exclusive exhibits is “Van Gogh’s Bedrooms“, which features the very famous three-part series of paintings of Van’s Gogh’s room. You can also visit the reopened contemporary art collection, featuring 44 pieces from Pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Jasper Johns. Check out the other exhibits here.
Advanced Screening of KEANU
Free movie night – what could be better?
“Keanu”, starring Comedy Central’s Key & Peele, tells the story of a kitten that gives company to the recently single Rell after randomly appearing at his doorstep. Keanu (the cat) gets kidnapped, and Rell and his cousin Clarence can only save the cat if they agree to work for the thief. Here’s the hilarious trailer.
