Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio
Frank Lloyd Wright was an influential Chicago architect who erected iconic structures like The Rookery Building, Robie House, and the Emil Bach House from 1887-1907. Wright built many houses around the world, but his home and studio is located right in Oak Park, not a 30-minute drive from the Loop. In fact, Oak Park itself has 21 easily distinguishable houses built by Wright during his years in Chicago, many of which you can tour and all of which you can see on the Pedal Oak Park tour.
The home and studio itself is iconic, and you can’t miss it if you even have a general sense of what you’re looking for. The prairie style design is unmatched and yet totally manifested in the various homes Wright built in his lifetime. The Unity Temple is not too far from the Home and Studio, and it has its own unique beauty, as worship serves are held here every Sunday for Unitarian Universalists.
