This self-described “post-rock” band from Scotland has been releasing total bops for decades now – and their most recent album, Every Country’s Son, is no exception. Catch Mogwai teaming up electronica mastermind Xander Harris (not to be confused with the Buffy character of the same name) December 8th at Terminal 5 for what’s sure to be a one helluva show. Yup, alt-rock favorites and fellow Brooklynites LCD Soundsystem are coming back to the hood this December for a series of shows at Brooklyn Steel. Their newest disc, appropriately titled American Dream, features pop/rock/electronic fusion hits guaranteed to hit that sweet spot of fun between dance and chill. Oh, and they were nominated for a Grammy this year, so….buy your tix here.

Deer Tick

December 2nd @ Brooklyn Steel

Deer Tick is still awesome and you should go listen to them play live on December 2nd. That is all. Buy tickets here.

Andrea Bocelli

December 13th & 14th @ Madison Square Garden

An oldie but a goodie, Andrea Bocelli hits the garden this December for a show stopping winter-time show. Though, true, Andrea’s dulcet tones might not be everyone’s cup of tea, you cannot deny that the man. can. effin’. sing. Also, did y’all know Andrea had a song with Ariana Grande – ’cause if not, you’re totally missing out.

Phish

December 28th – 31st @ Madison Square Garden

Is it really holiday time in NYC without a Phish concert? The correct answer is, of course, no.

Get tickets to see your favorite hippie band live here.

Jay-Z

December 2 @ The Nassau Coliseum

Oka, okay – so, no, this concert isn’t technically in NYC. Spare me the complaints though, ’cause it’s definitely close enough.

If you missed when Jay came to NYC earlier this year then this is your second chance. The 2018 Grammy nominee and husband-to-Beyonce has had one of the best years of his career, and you certainly don’t wanna miss it.

Grab your tickets here.

Fetty Wap

December 2nd @ The Highline Ballroom

The “Trap Queen” singer/rapper/performer etc. come to NYC this weekend! Buy tickets here.

SZA

December 11th @ Irving Plaza

Best New Artist nominee and all-around badass SZA comes to NY on December 11th. Though you may know her best from any of the like, six, top-songs she’s featured on rn, SZA’s CTRL album is an absolute bop. If you can’t manage to see her perform live, don’t worry – I guarantee she’ll be back soon.

Wheatus

December 7th @ The Knitting Factory

Catch me scream-singing “Teenage Dirtbag” at the top of my lungs December 7th at the Knitting Factory. I highly recommend you join me. Get your tickets here.
