Embrace Your Inner Lego Master Builder At Brickworld This Weekend

With the possible exception of the song “Barbie Girl” by Aqua, the biggest toy-related phenomenon to come out of Denmark in the last half century has to be LEGOS. The colorful plastic building blocks have gone from being the stackable amusement of nerds and future engineers to starring in a multi-million dollar movie franchise.

Regardless of the current wave of Hollywood commercialism that has swept over the LEGO brand, those of us who spent countless summer days in an air-conditioned basement creating (and destroying and recreating) amazing worlds of LEGO structures will be thrilled to know that a gathering of like-minded LEGO fanatics is happening in Schaumburg this weekend for Brickworld— a 100,000 square-foot LEGO exhibition packed with jaw-dropping creations and LEGO-centric activities geared towards fans from ages 4 to 99.
