Billy Goat Tavern

Billy Goat Tavern

Why you should visit

“Cheezeborger! Cheezeborger!”
The Billy Goat Tavern became an icon when these words were uttered on Saturday Night Live in 1978. The restaurant was originally opened in 1934 by WIlliam Sianis, who took up the name Billy Goat when a goat fell off a nearby truck and wandered inside. The restaurant’s menu features mostly bar food, but they also offer a breakfast menu. Whether you’re new to the city or a seasoned Chicagoan, this is a place that you need to visit at least once. Oh, and get a cheeseburger, you won’t regret it.
