About Arthur Ashe Beach Park
A staple of South Shore since it opened in 1993, Arthur Ashe Beach Park is a park along Chicago’s lakefront. It is located near 74th Street and South Shore Drive and has a total of 2.31 acres of public space. Featuring a playground directly along the beach, it is an ideal location for family gatherings. Named after tennis legend Arthur Ashe, the park has two popular tennis courts. It also includes Ashe Beach Community Gardens, maintained completely by local volunteers. Arthur Ashe Beach Park is a top South Shore park and peaceful escape to nature along Lake Michigan.
