About The Art Institute of Chicago
The Art Institute is one of the most acclaimed museums in the country, and rightly so. Featuring famous works from artists like Seurat, Picasso, Renoir, Van Gogh, Chagall and many, many more, the AIC is a don’t-miss destination for tourist and life-long Chicagoans alike. Founded in 1879 pened at its current location in 1893, the museum’s iconic art, architecture and bronze lions are beloved city icons and instantly recognizable around the globe. Offering tours, educational workshops, rotating exhibits and more, the Art Institute is an attraction worth visiting time and time again. Oh, and general admission is free to all Illinois residents every Thursday from 5pm to 8pm.
