This Saturday, July 8, Governor’s Island will play host to NYC’s 7th annual Full Moon Festival. Presented as a “boutique approach” to music festivals, the one-day fest takes its name and inspiration from the monthly full moon celebrations held on Thailand’s island of Koh Phangan.

Revelers will enjoy a mix of dance, pop, and hip-hop music from noon until midnight, followed by an afterparty at an undisclosed location in Brooklyn. Festival goers can take the ferry from the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street in Manhattan to get to Governor’s Island. It will depart every half hour, and ticket holders ride for free. Tickets can be purchased at the fest’s official website.
