The Malibu Barbie Cafe Comes to Life in Chicago This Summer

Come on Barbie, let’s go party!

As anticipation for the Barbie movie grows, Bucket Listers and Chicago Bucket List along with toy company Mattel are teaming up to bring Malibu to life here in Chicago with the The Malibu Barbie Cafe. The latest experience in Chicago is set to open on June 7th ahead of the July release of the Ryan Gosling-Margot Robbie movie.

Bucket Listers is honored to bring The Malibu Barbie Cafe to life,” says CEO and Founder Andy Lederman. “We pride ourselves on creating exclusive experiences for our community of 15 million + fans, concepts they won’t find anywhere else. Barbie has proven to be one of history’s ultimate icons, we just couldn’t pass up this chance to bring her world to life.”

It’ll be yet another notch in Bucket Listers belt, as they’re also behind the wildly popular Golden Girls Kitchen, and have brought experience-type pop-ups such as Saved by the Max, The Peach Pit, and Good Burger to life. The family friendly pop-up restaurant will be inspired by the groovy beachside energy of 1970s Malibu, California, when Malibu Barbie, the beach-bound doll that made its debut in 1971.

Now, we at UrbanMatter aren’t necessarily gimmicky experience restaurant type people. However, when it comes to family-friendly dining and attraction, this one is certainly going to be a sought after ticket. The Malibu Barbie Cafe will be a fast-casual restaurant with a menu created by Master Chef semifinalist Becky Brown. It’ll highlight all day brunch (TOTES!), friendly fare (oh, oh, OH YEAH!), desserts and a wide variety of drinks. A souvenir photo opportunity and gift shop with exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase.
