Bike, Brunch & Do Good at the 1st Annual “Tour To Pomeroy”

The weather has been perfect, and the water is gorgeous. No wonder people are out and about. If you’re familiar with Chicago, you’ve seen skaters and cycles zooming around the city like the wind! While we’re not in Europe, and cannot participate in the world-famous Tour de France, this year, Chicago cyclists have the opportunity to participate in something just as (we think) exciting — the first annual Tour To Pomeroy, on July 24th!

Aside from the iconic Pomeroy brunch spread and cocktails, you’ll also be contributing to the important cause of stopping child hunger as part of the proceeds will go to No Kid Hungry, a national campaign run by Share Our Strength. Sounds good? Keep reading for more details, and add it to your July itinerary now.

Bike, Brunch, and Do Good

On Sunday, July 24th, residents can pay homage to Tour De France with the inaugural Tour to Pomeroy! The ultimate bike ride through the North Shore and the perfect way to start your Sunday morning. Bikers will kick off the morning at 8:00 am in front of Buck Russell’s Bakery and Sandwich Shop, where bikers can check in and receive their baked goods, a cup of coffee, juice or water, a t-shirt, a wristband, and a route map.

There will be two waves for bikers. The first wave will begin at 8:30 am for bikers 12 and over, and the second wave will pedal off at 8:45 am for families with kids under 12. It will take riders approximately 18 minutes to bike from Buck Russell’s to Pomeroy. Once bikers cross the finish line at Pomeroy, they will be greeted with their choice of Charles Heidsieck champagne, a specialty cocktail, and a mocktail for the little ones. To continue the celebration, guests will be escorted to Pomeroy’s Courtyard for an exclusive brunch buffet.

Tickets are $125.00 per person, including coffee and pastry from Buck Russell’s, an event t-shirt, route map, finish-line cocktails, and the buffet at Pomeroy! A portion of the proceeds will be donated to No Kid Hungry.
