And with great art comes awesome galleries where you can admire, learn about, and purchase a wide variety of art. Many of the galleries are put together based on a theme or a feeling the curator wants to represent, and often feature multiple different artists. Here are some of the best galleries around Austin!
Canopy

Canopy is an amazing community on the East Side, consisting of art galleries – many of which you’ll see more about below! – private art studios, creative office spaces, and shops. It’s a wonderful place to enjoy a coffee, and browse a wide selection of art done by artists in the surrounding studios.
Ivester Contemporary

Ivester Contemporary is located within the Canopy Complex and has monthly rotating exhibitions full of contemporary art by leading artists in the Austin area. The exhibits are designed to bring the public closer to art and inspire a deeper understanding of the pieces.
Big Medium

Big Medium is a nonprofit organization with the goal of providing a space for artists to create and exhibit their work. They hold events all over Austin, but their studio space at Canopy provides a space for the artists and their audiences to connect.
ICOSA

ICOSA is another nonprofit space for artists to showcase their works, without the typical restraints other galleries may have. The organization is home to a group of artists known both nationally and internationally, and they offer art shows, educational programs, and a way to create a running dialogue about art.
grayDuck Gallery

The grayDuck Gallery is more than just a great space to showcase art. There are monthly shows to highlight works of art from a wide range of artists, but the space is also used for poetry readings, film showings, music, and other performances.

West Chelsea Contemporary

If you’re looking for fine art – world-class art gallery West Chelsea Contemporary is the place to visit. The gallery focuses on 20th century and contemporary American and European Post-War movements. Here you’ll find art by legends such as the infamous Banksy, Salvador Dalí, Andy Warhol, and much more!
