The Absolute Best Cideries in Austin, Texas

There’s a brewery for just about any kind of beer you could want in Austin, and cideries are no exception. There are tons of places you can go for cider, but why not head directly to the source? There are six delicious cideries around Austin to choose from, all of them have slightly different styles, and they’re all incredibly delicious.

Cidercade

600 E Riverside Dr, Austin, TX 78704

One of the coolest places to go for a wide variety of cider flavors, Cidercade just opened a few months ago. It’s more than just a cidery: it’s also a whole arcade! They have around 24 house-made Bishop ciders, plus all the classic arcade games you could ask for! It’s a solid place to hang out with friends.

Austin Eastciders

1530 Barton Springs Rd, Austin, TX 78704

Possibly the most famous, Austin Eastciders is pretty much exclusive to Austin, but actually have an English background. The founder, Ed Gibson, came over from the UK sometime back and brought with him tons of cider knowledge. Here you’ll find ciders made with cider apples straight from Europe, resulting in that crisp, thirst-quenching, dry cider.

Moontower Cider

1916 Tillery St, Austin, TX 78723

Moontower ciders are truly one of a kind. You can find very dry ciders to sweeter blends and everything in between. The goal with their cider is to create very balanced flavors so that everything just… works. They’ve definitely succeeded, everyone is sure to find something they like here!

Fairweather Cider

10609 Metric Blvd #108, Austin, TX 78758

At Fairweather, their cider is made with a special farmhouse ale yeast and they’re not afraid to experiment with flavor. Here you can try ciders made with gin botanicals, spicy chilis, and more! And their very cute taproom is finally open again after closing briefly during the pandemic.

Texas Keeper

12521 Twin Creek Rd, Manchaca, TX 78652

Deep in South Austin, you’ll find Texas Keeper. Their ciders take lots of inspiration from beer and mead. You’ll find some amazing classics, but also a cider with a hefeweizen style, an IPA style, and even mead! With these inspirations, their ciders have really become something tasty.

Argus Cidery

8201 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78745

Argus Cidery had previously paused operations, but they finally found a home in the generous Thirsty Planet brewery! Argus Cidery produces two kinds of ciders in small batches. Their Orchard Lot ciders are made from more types of apples than you can imagine (plus other fruits!). If you want something dry, look no further than their Fermentables collection of incredibly dry, and tart ciders. With cider this good, it’ll be well worth the wait.
