The Paramount Theatre invites you to celebrate the holidays in the decked-out halls of the historic theatre with a slate of holiday programming that promises laughter, seasonal film favorites, stirring musical performances, and a stellar send-off to 2022.
Early in the festivities, the beloved ELF Pub Run and screening will kick things off with some cardio on Tuesday, December 6th. Pub runners will meet at the Paramount before taking off to Easy Tiger on 7th, and the fun will include caroling, a burping contest, a snowball fight, and even a costume contest to show off your affinity for elf culture. A special VIP Holiday Hijinx package is available for those who want to enjoy a ride to and from Easy Tiger on the party bus, a reserved seating section at the Paramount and other perks.
Lovers of classic film will enjoy screenings of other festive films like IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE, MIRACLE ON 34TH STREET, WHTE CHRISTMAS, LOVE ACTUALLY and HOME ALONE 2: LOST IN NEW YORK.
Another favorite, The Jinkx & DeLa Holiday Show will bring “the queens of Christmas” to the stage for fabulous spectacle, whip-smart comedy, new songs and annual favorites on Sunday, December 11th. In a show that’s recommended for mature audiences, A John Waters Christmas will be back at the Paramount this year for more of the unexpected from “The Pope of Trash.”
You’ll hear a lot more than sleigh bells jingling at the Paramount’s holiday music shows. The Austin Chamber Music Center will bring three guaranteed-to-sell-out live concerts of the original A Charlie Brown Christmas music, perfect for Austin families, on December 3rd. The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will spread holiday sheer on its annual Big Band Holidays Tour featuring Grammy-winning vocalist Dianne Reeves with Samara Joy on December 7th.
On December 9th, Ian Moore returns to the Stateside for his mostly acoustic Family Christmas show for a night of rare songs and special guests. Always a welcomed return to Austin, Kat Edmonson will perform Yule-tide favorites in her Holiday Swingin’! A Kat Edmonson Christmas show on December 16th. On Monday, December 19th, Platinum-selling singer and actor Chris Isaak will perform as part of his “Everybody Knows It’s Christmas” tour, playing originals and covers from the album.
And of course, everyone is invited back to party in the glittering-gold Paramount to ring in the New Year with Bob Schneider’s annual Great Big Spectacular New Year’s Eve Party, another celebrated tradition at the theatre. This show and party combo is the best way to see 2022 out in style while ensuring your first moments of 2023 are unforgettable. Bob’s kicking the night off right with two hand-picked openers – Primo the Alien and Big Skinny. New this year: limited VIP packages with bubbles for two are available that include prime front row or center mezzanine seating with a custom table between seats to place your choice of champagne or red/white wine.
