Immersive Van Gogh Exhibit Coming to Austin On June 18th

Imagine the mind of Vincent Van Gogh. Now imagine you’re in it, witnessing unbelievable works of art surround your senses and become all you can see. That’s the unequivocally surreal world of the immersive Van Gogh exhibit that’s been traveling the nation, only to finally find its way to Austin, Texas. Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is opening in Austin on June 18th for a limited engagement and you are not going to want to miss this.

Experience the masterful artwork of Vincent Van Gogh at the immersive exhibit like you’ve never seen before. Even if you have witnessed the original paintings, you will find yourself in absolute wonder when you step into the art itself. Creative Director Mathieu St-Arnaud wanted to mirror audiovisual design in a brand new way at the exhibit, by taking art of unimaginable beauty and transferring it through light and color onto the walls and floor around you. The Van Gogh exhibit uses cutting-edge projection technology to achieve this extraordinary effect, layered by the sound of Van Gogh’s own words and symphonies. According to the website, you’ll see “masterpieces, now freed from frames, come alive, appear and disappear, flow across multi-surfaces, the minutia of details titillating our heightened senses.”

Tickets for timed entry to this once-in-a-lifetime Van Gogh exhibit are $37 for adults and $24 for children, but students, seniors, and military can receive a discount with ID. Groups of 8 or more get a discounted rate at $31. If you want a flexible entry time—two hours before or after your start time—tickets are $54. There’s also a VIP package that includes merchandise for $94.

A dreamlike sleepwalking through the exhibit will take around an hour, located in the Starry Night Pavilion at Circuit of The Americas. Beyond Van Gogh is designed as a walk-through exhibit that permits and encourages 6-feet distance between attendees. Additional cleaning procedures and safety measures can be reviewed on the website.
