‘Hamilton’ Musical is Coming to Broadway in Austin This December

Tickets to the world-renowned musical Hamilton are on sale now for its limited engagement on Broadway in Austin this December.

Hamilton will take to the stage at Bass Concert Hall in the The University of Texas Performing Arts Center, operated by UT’s College of Fine Arts. The limited engagement will run from December 7 – 19, 2021, with several showings of the musical on select days. Single tickets for a seat at the show went on sale on September 9 at 10 am; Hamilton will be the first performance to play at Bass Concert Hall in almost two years.

As expected, tickets to the show do not come cheap. Prices range from $49-179 with a few premium seats available for $249. You can only purchase up to eight tickets at a time per account. But, if that seems a little out of your price range, don’t worry—you haven’t thrown away your shot. There’s always the chance to win one of 40 $10 seats, set aside for every single showing, through the Broadway lottery. Details on how to get in on this will be announced closer to showtime.

We should note that the only place to buy tickets for Hamilton in Austin are at Broadway in Austin and Texas Performing Arts websites. Do not purchase tickets from third-party sites.Texas Performing Arts has stated that a few third-party sellers are advertising inflated, fraudulent resale tickets, so make sure to purchase directly from the websites above.

The hit musical was scheduled to touch down in Austin much earlier, but due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, its limited engagement was pushed closer to the winter season. The reputation that Hamilton brings to Austin precedes itself, having won several Tony®, Grammy®, and Olivier Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, plus an unprecedented special citation from the Kennedy Center Honors.
