Electric Cookout Takes Over San Antonio Next Weekend

Events are starting to pop up again in San Antonio, and next weekend, a long-awaited Electric Cookout will take over downtown for one of the first in-person, socially distanced events of the year.

Organizers Electric Fiesta and EDM Maniac partnered up for this one-of-a-kind event on Saturday, April 17th. Get ready for an electrically charged, DJ-led festival in the 800LIVE Bar & Nightclub parking lot that features a live comedy show, trippy art installations, local painters doing live work, and a digital auction of their masterpieces. Of course, we know you’re really the most excited for the dozens of tasty San Antonio food trucks lined up throughout the festival, showcasing the diverse cuisine the city has to offer and curated by food and beverage tastemaker SATXrated.

“Both EDM Maniac and Electric Fiesta are looking to boost the local economy for entertainers affected by the coronavirus crisis as well as provide jobs and opportunities by hosting the event,” EDM Maniac said in a blog post on their website. With that goal in mind, the Electric Cookout only sources local food trucks, vendors, artists, and entertainers, to make this a totally San Antonio-only event.

Last Halloween, Electric Fiesta lit up the city with socially distanced drive-in entertainment, like the Rocky Horror Picture Show sing-a-long and a full-blown EDM concert. Both featured laser and light shows, live costumed performers, stilt walkers, fire breathers, and Halloween scares. A Pink Floyd laser light show was also scheduled but postponed until further notice.

Tickets for Electric Cookout are available now for $20 general admission or $50 for exclusive pre-party and after-party access. This event is open to people of all ages. Masks are required upon entry and throughout the festival grounds when you’re not eating or drinking. You can enter and leave the festival at any time, allowing for a more socially distanced event. Find Electric Cookout in the parking lot of 800LIVE Bar & Nightclub at 800 Lexington Ave, San Antonio, TX, from 4 – 10 pm on Saturday, April 17th.
