6 Austin Farmers Markets for Fresh Fruit, Meat, and Veggies This Spring

There are few things Austinites love more than a good farmers market — other than maybe a vintage market! Austin farmers markets are the perfect place to spend a day, especially as we’re getting into that gorgeous spring weather. You’ll find tons of markets in the Austin area, each one with their own unique vendors selling everything from fresh produce and meats to artisan jewellery and snacks. These Austin farmers markets are a must-visit, whether you’re grocery shopping, or even going on a cute date!

Texas Farmers Market

4209 Airport Blvd, Austin, TX 78722   |   Sundays, 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Located right on the lake at Mueller Lake Park, Texas Farmers Market has it all. There are loads of vendors for just about everything you can think of and tons of food trucks so you can snack while you shop. The area is beautiful, and with a park right there, you can lay out a blanket and enjoy some of your finds right away!

SFC Farmers Market

422 Guadalupe St, Austin, TX 78701   |   Saturdays, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm

At SFC Farmers Market, you can enjoy all of the charms of Downtown Austin. This market is especially large, with over 75 vendors each week! The atmosphere is always lively, the food is delicious, and it wouldn’t be Austin without — you guessed it! — live music. While you shop around or even take a break to picnic, you’ll get to enjoy a great music scene, and possibly even better food.

Barton Creek Farmers Market

2901 S Capital of Texas Hwy, Austin, TX 78746   |   Saturdays, 9:00am – 1:00pm

Located in the parking lot of Barton Creek Mall, Barton Creek Farmers Market is a little bit smaller, but absolutely the place to go for sculptures, jewellery, soap, flowers, and so much more. They have lots of fresh produce too, but if you’re looking for artisan goods, we’d absolutely recommend checking it out!

Boggy Creek Farm

3414 Lyons Rd, Austin, TX 78702   |   Wednesday – Saturday, 8:00am – 1:00pm

Boggy Creek Farm is a fully working farm just 2 miles away from Downtown Austin. The farm has been around since at least 1840, and has been an Austin staple ever since! They have a massive selection of veggies, meats, dairy, breads, and more. It’s like stepping back in time, and unbelievably fresh.

Lone Star Farmers Market

12700 Hill Country Blvd, Bee Cave, TX 78738   |   Sundays, 10:00am – 2:00pm

Lone Star Farmers Market is located in the Hill Country Galleria, and boasts 40+ vendors each week! There’s fresh produce, artisan crafts, and foods, and plenty of other events during the market the whole family will enjoy.

JBG Farmstand

4008 River Rd, Cedar Creek, TX 78612   |   Saturdays, 9:00am – 1:00pm

JBG, or Johnson’s Backyard Garden, is just a little bit outside Austin, but it’s absolutely worth it. This is the only farm that allows you to pick-your-own produce and flowers. You can go right out into the fields and choose your perfect veggies, herbs, and create your own personal bouquets!
