10 Best Breweries in the Greater Austin Area

These days, Austin is packed full of amazing and innovative breweries, but we decided it was time to show some love to the ones outside the city center. These breweries are all fantastic in their own ways and totally worth the extra 15-20 minutes of drive time.

Jester King

13187 Fitzhugh Rd, Austin, TX 78736

Jester King is a classic European-style farmhouse brewery, famous for its impeccable beers. They incorporate local grains, fruits, plants, and even native yeast in their beers, making them really something special.

12 Fox

4700 W Fitzhugh Rd, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

The owners of 12 Fox met in the army and fell in love with German beer while stationed in Bamberg. Now they create small batch brews with single-sourced malt — simple and perfect.

Acopon

211 W Mercer St, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

If you’re seeking a traditional (and delicious) English ale, Acopon is the place for you! Bitters, Milds, Old Ales, Porters; all your English ale dreams will be fulfilled.

Bell Springs Brewery

3700 Bell Springs Rd, Dripping Springs, TX 78620

Bell Springs is a haven for beer and wine. The brewery is on over 10 acres shared with Bell Springs Winery so you can take your pick! It’s honestly like a mini retreat.

Hedgehog Brewing

3200 Woodall Dr C-1, Cedar Park, TX 78613

Two brothers created Hedgehog Brewing, and it might be the cutest brewery we’ve ever seen. They specialize in making bright, hoppy ales and inventive farmhouse beers — come enjoy what they love best!

Last Stand

12345 Pauls Valley Rd, Building I, Austin, TX 78737

Last Stand has some excellent beers and focuses on a few styles so everyone is sure to find something they like. You’ll find full-bodied IPAs, Pale Ales, Lagers, and Porters that really stand out as each specific style.

Humble Pint

11880 Hero Way W Suite 208, Leander, TX 78641

Humble Pint has roots in the Northwest with wonderful craft beers in styles less common around Texas. Beyond beer, they aim to be a big part of their community, as well as focus on sustainability and taking care of the environment.

Red Horn

13010 W Parmer Ln #800, Cedar Park, TX 78613

Red Horn is both a coffeehouse and an excellent brewery. Absolutely everything they make is produced right there in the building. Not to mention it seems like they make about every kind of beer there is — it’s an awesome place to hang out.

Whitestone

601 E Whitestone Blvd Suite #500, Cedar Park, TX 78613

At Whitestone, they love to experiment. There are loads of craft IPAs to try out, along with plenty of German-style beers. You’ll find great mainstays, fun seasonal releases, and some exciting specialty beers too.

Willard’s Brewery

2400 Patterson Industrial Dr, Pflugerville, TX 78660

Willard’s is one of the best breweries near Austin with a small team of incredibly experienced brewmasters — like upwards of 24 years! They currently have three stellar options of their own, plus some guest beers and great cocktail options!
