4 Ways to Volunteer This Spring in Austin

Spring is a time of rebirth, renewal, and giving back. As the world comes back to life after a long winter, oftentimes spring is a great season to invest in your community and help others get back on their feet and back on track in time for the summer. If you’re thinking about ways to give back to Austin this spring, consider these top four ways to volunteer in Austin.

The Austin Humane Society

Are you a pet lover? The animals at Austin Humane Society can use your help. Volunteer to clean facilities, feed animals, take animals on walks, and participate in key socialization time with other animals (a.k.a, playing with lots of dogs and cats!) Volunteers can also help with key administrative tasks to help make sure as many of these lovable animals get adopted as possible.

The SAFE Alliance

One of Austin’s foremost children and family homelessness shelter, the SAFE Alliance provides all kinds of support services for people experiencing homelessness or escaping abuse and many especially targeted to younger children. Volunteer to provide food and clothing, meet with people and provide them with legal and medical resources, and to provide a kind and listening ear.

Austin Parks Foundation

Ready to recommit to the natural world? Help the Austin Parks Foundation continue to keep Austin green, clean, and eco-friendly. Donate a tree or sign up for a community cleaning event. You can also sign up to help build or maintain existing trails and assist with other local tours or events as a guide or leader.

Volunteer Health Care Clinic

Help provide affordable or free health care services to underserved communities throughout Austin at Volunteer HealthCare Clinic. Volunteer as a translator if you speak Spanish or as a qualified healthcare professional to help provide analysis and services. You can also sign up to help with administrative tasks to help the clinic continue to run smoothly.
