The entire place is super cozy and romantic – great for couples’ celebrations or just to take a weekend off with your S.O. There are tons of trails to explore, and it’s located pretty close to Fort Worth and Dallas, so you can enjoy some city life too!

Caddo Lake State Park

There’s lots to do at Caddo Lake, one of the best weekend getaways near Austin. Stay in a cozy cabin at the park, enjoy the massive cypress trees as you do some hiking, and even rent some canoes — just beware the alligators. After getting your fill of nature, New Orleans is a quick drive away so you can have fun exploring the city before heading home.

Galveston

We just had to have a beach getaway, and typically warm year-round – Galveston is awesome. There’s a cute pier with rides, games, and restaurants. The beach is amazing, and Moody Gardens has glass pyramids of rainforests and aquariums, plus a massive museum!
