Movies in the Park

Every year Cox Communications holds an outdoor Movies in the Park Series at Reid Park. Kid friendly movies show through July and August, and they are free to watch on Fridays. The selection of movies are awesome, and there is also pre-show entertainment that includes local performers, games, and prizes. Festivities start at 6 in the evening. The next movie showing at Reid Park will feature Disney’s Luca and starts at 7:45. Lawn chairs, towels, and blankets make the experience all the cozier. The event also hosts food trucks and picnics are okay. Get there early to pick a good spot on the lawn and watch pre-show entertainment! 

Movies on the Lawn

The Oro Valley Community & Recreation Center hosts entertainment under the stars with movie screenings to please adults and kids alike. Their next screening will take place August 20th at 7:30. The movie will be Sing 2 complete with songs you probably already know and an easy-to-follow plot.

Our last outdoor movie theater event is more for kiddos and includes a pool and pizza and takes place at the JCC on Saturday, July 23rd from 5 to 9. If you register by 5:00 pm on the 22nd it guarantees pizza, but walk-in registration will still be available if you’re not worried about the food. For members of the JCC tickets are $5 and non-members pay only $8. The event takes place at the pool and splash pad at the JCC and there will be a bounce house and a showing of Finding Nemo
